If you’re interested in becoming more effective at delivering software these books are a great place to start. They are not technical and in a lot of places not even about software development but they raise questions about the way we have been working and thinking about the work we do. For me they got me thinking about subjects like …

• The flow of work through the team.
• The work in progress and how it can harm us.
• Optimizations and how they can have positive and negative impacts.
• Bottle necks in the team and how we can work around them.
• Clearly about the value of the work we are doing.
• Measure productivity.
• How targets can sometimes harm a team.
